Objective: To begin to distinguish between the author's tone and the mood of the story.
1.) Word Work Gallery - share your word of the week with your table and then with the class. I will collect this at the end of class.
2.) Warm-Up: Journal - When an adult tells you to "watch your tone," or "don't use that tone," what do they mean?
3.) Try out different tones
4.) Tone vs. Mood definitions (once this page opens, there will be a black box there with a link to get the pages needed)
5.) Watch the following movie trailers and make note of the author's tone and the pieces mood on a piece of paper. Make sure you can defend each one: Trailer One, Trailer Two, Trailer Three.
6.) Agenda Books

1.) If your class didn't finish the movie trailer activity, that is your homework for tonight.
